Prescribing and ordering

  1. Taperingstrips are only available on prescription. The order form signed by the psychiatrist/physician is a valid prescription.
  2. Taperingstrips should not be seen as a replacement for the healthcare care provided by a physician. Adequate support of patients during tapering, but also for some time afterwards, remains at all times essential for timely recognition of any signs of remission.
  3. Taperingstrips are a scientifically proven way to stop using medication with no (or a minimized number of) withdrawal symptoms.
  4. Together with the psychiatrist/physician, the patient can choose it’s own tapering trajectory.
  5. After signing the form, the physician should send the signed form to Regenboog Apotheek (Rainbow Pharmacy). The email address as well as the fax number is stated on the order form.
  6. The medication will be sent to the patient’s home address. The patient and the doctor will be informed by email.
  7. Taperingstrips can also be sent to patients outside the Netherlands, in accordance with the legislation of the receiving country.
